You loved your Trans Am's seats when the car was new. These are better. Same fit, upgraded execution. Every set is cut and sewn by hand to sit correctly on the original front and rear frames, so the interior looks intentional and custom rather than worn out or generic. This is for the owner who wants the inside of the car to match the effort that went into the rest of it.

What We Make

Front and rear seat covers for 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1981 Trans Am and Firebird, built to order with the options that make a set yours:

• Firebird or Trans Am embroidery, worked into the seat rather than stuck on
• French stitching for a clean, finished seam line, with contrast stitching if you want the thread to stand out
• Full-grain leather rather than the vinyl the factory used, in a standard color set or a custom match
• A true factory fit that drops onto the original seat frames without modification

We do not carry stock, run a catalog, or list prices online. Every set is made one at a time, so each build starts with a conversation about your car and what you want.

Why Leather Instead of Vinyl

Nearly every second-generation Trans Am and Firebird left the factory in vinyl. The lone exception was the 1979 10th Anniversary Trans Am, which got silver leather-trimmed seats and only in Platinum Silver Metallic. If you own anything else, leather is an upgrade your car could not be ordered with. Here is what the material actually does for you.

Superior driving comfort

• Breathable material. Leather breathes, which prevents the hot, sticky, sweaty ride that vintage vinyl gives you on a summer drive.
• Temperature regulation. It adapts quickly to body temperature, staying cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
• Softer feel. The material conforms naturally to the driver over time, creating a custom-molded, comfortable seat.

Long-term durability

• Tear resistance. Natural collagen fibers give leather immense tensile strength, resisting punctures and stretching better than aging plastic.
• No cracking or peeling. Vinyl bakes in the sun until it splits open. Properly maintained leather stays flexible for decades.
• Restorability. Minor scuffs, fading, or wear can be conditioned, recolored, or repaired without replacing the entire panel.

Color Sets and Lead Time

There are two ways to spec a set, and they run on different schedules.

Standard sets, about three weeks

Four combinations we keep leather and patterns on hand for. Because the material is already here, these move fastest.

• Black and camel. Black panels with camel accents. The combination most owners picture on a black-and-gold car.
• Black and red. Black panels with red accents, for a sharper contrast that reads well in a dark interior.
• Camel and black. The same two hides reversed, camel leading with black accents, for a lighter cabin.
• All black. Single-color throughout, the cleanest and most factory-adjacent of the four.

Custom color match, four to six weeks

Want something outside those four? We can source the hide and match it to your car. Custom leather has to be ordered in and inspected before any cutting starts, which is why it runs four to six weeks instead of three. Tell us the color you are chasing and we will talk through what is available.
